Hwa-Jung Han is a director of SDN Technology, Architecture, and Planning at Verizon. She is currently leading Network Digital Transformation initiative through building Programmable Network that enables Automation and Service Innovation. Her responsibilities include establishing an SDN northstar architecture that is relevant to Verizon business; developing network evolution strategy and plan using SDN technology; and building internal and external SDN ecosystem partners and solutions to support Verizon’s open standard implementation vision. She is also responsible for overall network virtualization strategy and planning for Verizon network infrastructure. Prior to current responsibility, she had various data network architecture and technology responsibilities in Verizon business network organizations. She started her career as a software engineer, developed first programable switch in support of international prepaid IP call processing service at MCI and has been with Verizon for 24 years. She has BS and MS degrees in Computer Science from the University of Iowa. She served as an ONF board member during 2015-2016 term.
