Sam Fletcher-Foote is Head of Network AI within the CTO organisation at Virgin Media O2, where he leads the strategy and delivery of AI-driven automation across national network infrastructure. With a background in engineering and 16 years in telecommunications, he brings deep expertise across network architecture, software defined networking, and OSS platforms, alongside significant experience shaping technology strategy at scale.

His work focuses on embedding AI and automation across the network lifecycle, including the delivery of software-defined networking across Fixed, Mobile, and B2B environments, and the advancement of AIOps and Digital Twin capabilities to enable more intelligent, adaptive operations. He has played a key role in large-scale network evolution programmes, supporting the transition toward autonomous, software-defined infrastructure and new digital service models.
Operating at the intersection of engineering and strategy, Sam works closely with senior leadership to translate emerging technologies into practical, scalable outcomes, helping organisations modernise network operations and realise the full potential of AI in telecoms.
