Sayan Banerjee is the Chief Analytics & AI Officer at XLSmart, Indonesia, where he leads the company’s Analytics & AI function, driving the use of data, artificial intelligence and agentic AI to accelerate business growth, enhance customer experience and improve operational performance. He is focused on building enterprise AI capabilities that enable intelligent decision-making, create new revenue opportunities and transform how telecommunications businesses operate.

With more than 20 years of international leadership experience across telecommunications, technology consulting, data science and AI transformation, Sayan has led enterprise-scale AI and data initiatives across Australia and Asia. Prior to joining XLSmart, he held executive leadership roles at Telstra in Australia, leading Data Science and AI across one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading telecommunications providers. Earlier, he held leadership positions with IBM Consulting and Infosys, delivering large-scale technology, AI and digital transformation programmes.

Sayan is passionate about helping telecom operators move beyond AI experimentation to enterprise-wide adoption, leveraging agentic AI, advanced analytics and strategic partnerships to unlock sustainable business value. He holds an MBA from SP Jain School of Global Management, Singapore, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India.
